It's about time! (I know!)

So it has been almost 4 months since I have posted. Why you ask? No fantastic reason other than life, and my life isn't full of totally exciting blog worthy things.
So, new things that have happened?
-Cam turned 32 years old, on April 9th, he is officially on old man, but still super sexy! Oh and I used a sewing maching to make his from the heart birthday gift, a Utes BBQing apron; and baked his favorite, orange cake! So, domestic, huh?! Oh, I guessed I turned 26 in February too, but no pics and what did we do???

-Lee (Cam's dad) had a bit of a health scare. He ended up having a triple bypass surgery in Boise. Cam was able to be there with him for that. Then Cam, Emma and I went to Carey to visit him over Conference weekend. He is doing surprisingly well and was only in the hospital for 5 days and has already gone back part time to work. He is such a blessing in our lives and we are so grateful that everything went well, we love you Lee and continue to keep you in our prayers.

Aunt Kelly pretty much was Emma's personal entertainment all weekend long, thanks Kel!

And of course, Uncle Aaron had to get in his fair share of roughing her up!!

-We had the 15th grandchild born on the Peck side. Alexander Edward Peck, was born on April 7th, he is cute as a peanut.

Emma always says "oh, he's so cute and tiny!" whenever she holds a baby!

Jameson Jay Griffiths (#14) was born in January. Here is Emma visiting him in Vegas.

-I am still pregnant, this pregnancy has been much harder on me and much more filled with pain and discomfort. I currently have my third cold of this pregnancy so far and a nasty cough that feels like Maren is going to pop from my abdomen with every cough. Thus why I am blogging instead of cleaning my house right now. (Allie would have a heart attack if she saw the tornado that went through my house, I probably have like 3 loads of dishes to do, bummer!) I have absolutely no nesting instincts and am totally unprepared for June. Good thing I have a hard working husband!
-Um, I started a new job at Mountain West Medical Center working in their OB unit (Labor and Delivery/Post-Partum) in February, I really like it, however, it is way different than the "U" (I still work there one day a week). That could be its own post in and of itself.
-Cam got a new job at Zions Bank in January and is really liking it and doing quite well, I am really proud of him.

-Emma is in a big girl bed downstairs, she is getting so big and is "so excited for when Maren is big enough to come out of my belly." She also has a cold currently. Her newest thing is to act like she has no idea what you said when you ask her to do something and cocks her head and says "what you said momma?" This gets really annoying when all you have said is "Please put on your shoes" or something else completely simple. She is definetly two and I definetly have less patience since I am prego. Oh, she can now open doors too! She hides in the pantry at least six times a day. She loves to play "Hunt the Belly Wampus" (thanks Griffy's) and hides in the same 3 places, under Maren's crib, in her closet or under a blanket. She can count to 16 and sings her ABC's but not in the right order all the time. She had a fabulous time playing with all her cousins while they were here for Spring Break and it made me realize that I really need to start a playgroup for her.
We went to Wheeler Farm and looked at all the animals.

The cousins! Emma is crying, she had just got dirt thrown in her face by the boys!
Feeding the ducks.
Playing "Ring Around the Rosies"
Looking at the piggies.
Emma always wanted to climb up the fence like the big kids were doing, she needed a little help.

The Childrens' Museum at the Gateway.

-I changed from my snowflake background today but it is snowing outside! I am ready for consistenly good weather.
The first BBQed hot dog of season!

Here are some other random pics of what we have been doing.

Emma's easter present from the Easter Bunny. We didn't take her to church that week, due to her cough. That worked out okay though considering I forgot to get her an Easter dress. Poor thing, her mom is really losing her mind!

Emma absolutely LOVED dying Easter eggs. She hasn't stopped asking to do it again since! Please excuse the snot running down her nose, and don't I just look beautiful???

The End! Hopefully the next post won't need to be a novel. Sorry!

We are officially having a......

GIRL!!!

We had our ultrasound yesterday and are happy to report we will be having a healthy little girl. We will probably name her Maren Iris Cook. She looked adorable. Emma and Cameron were both able to come and Emma is still convinced that we are "just having a baby." Here are a couple of pics!

A late and long Christmas update!

Cameron, Emma and I got to go to Carey and be there for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day festivities for the first time! I finally didn't have to work, yeah! So here are some of our pictures in completely random order ( I still don't know how to get them in the order I want them). Enjoy!

We have a tradition to open new PJ's on Christmas Eve and this year I also enclosed "Twas the Night Before Christmas" book. In my family my dad recites it every Christmas Eve, this was the first Christmas Eve I have missed at my parents house and was a little sad about it. I wanted Emma to know how important traditions are to me and I want to keep this on going with her.

Cam's family puts on the nativity scene with the kids. Emma was suppose to be Mary but refused, not to mention it was like 9:30 p.m. (was past her bedtime!) I love that Aaron was the donkey, and don't ask where Lee Jay's pants are!

Mary and Joseph.

Rachel was a beautiful angel.

Sledding behind the pickup. Emma kept wanting "another turn"

But she definetly preferred to go with dad!

My mom and dad came over to our house the Sunday before to exchange gifts. Emma loves her Nana and Papa. Thanks for everything guys!

Cam and Emma playing in our first snow of the year!

Christmas morning! She LOVES the dollhouse furniture Grandma and Grandpa gave her!

Lee and Sandy's kids gave them a trip to Nauvoo, I hope they are excited, and have fun planning the upcoming trip!

One of the many presents Christmas morning!

This is Terea's gag gift from James. There is actually a beautiful picture of the Bountiful Temple (where they got married!) underneath. Those Cook's they are such jokers.

Emma opening Kelly and Tyrel's gift. She has been playing with those cookie cutters none stop, I am going to have to wash them before we actually use them to make cookies and get all the play-doh off.

Opening her stocking and her "Gymbo" doll.

Okay, I think this pic is so cute! Rachel got a new bike. Don't worry about her face she just had a sledding accident the day before we came, she is all right and was very brave!

Another, less cute, picture of the accident. Poor Rachel!

First morning pic, puffy eyes and all. Corbin, Alyssa and Rachel had to wait for Emma to wake up to open presents, sorry kids!

Her Christmas Eve PJ's, so warm and cozy!

My adorable Emma Jane!

A much needed update!

Um, so I have been very disenchanted with blogging lately but I suppose I am due for an update. So, Cameron finished our basement right before Thanksgiving, so that the Griffy's could stay with us. It was great fun to have them! Cam did an awesome job downstairs! We love letting Emma play with all her toys down there so they aren't crowding my living room. Emma is also excited about her new pink and green room that she will move into soon enough. We still have a few little odds and ends to finish up, but so far it has been so handy to have that extra guest room; Mel, Mike, Liza, Luke, Sandy, Aaron and Erica have all used it. So anyone else is welcome anytime! Sorry there are no pics, you will just have to come see it for yourself!

We had a great Thanksgiving, we ate at my parents and it was delicious. Emma wore her new shirt that said "I'm gunna be a big sister!" Yep, I'm pregnant! Emma showed her shirt to Nana first and it was super fun to tell everyone together. Then we sent a picture message to all of Cam's fam and it took them a minute to figure it out, but then there were congratulations all around. Allie also announced at dinner she is expecting as well, 19 days before me! So far for 2009 there will be at least 4 new Peck grandchildren!

So, I am 13 weeks and am due on June 19th, we couldn't be happier, we are so ready and so excited for this new burrito!

Okay, so can you believe Christmas is sooooo close! I can't. But it is finally starting to feel like Christmas because we have started doing Christmas things like......

Making and decorating Christmas sugar cookies. Note the Carey Panther yellow and blue.

Thanks to the Funk's for the food coloring, last minute on a Sunday night!

Getting a tree and decorating it! Emma was following Cam around the tree and carrying the lights for him (it was so cute and helpful!) but of course I got out the camera and she stopped.

Putting up Christmas decor!

Building a gingerbread house. Thanks Grandma Sandy! Emma was fascinated and didn't want to stop.

Going to see the Lights on Temple Square, so pretty!

Emma sitting on Santa's lap. She said she wanted "toys".

This holiday season has been, and will be, so much fun with her. She doesn't totally get it all but she does get a lot. Tonight when I laid her down she asked for Christmas songs (instead of the standby "I am a Child of God" "Twinkle" and "Rock a baby"). So I sang "Picture Christmas" "Silent Night" and "Oh, come all ye faithful" She loved them all, she is such a sweety. Merry Christmas!

Happy Halloween!

Emma sitting on the porch handing out candy to the trick or treaters in our neighborhood.

Cam took Emma trick or treating because I had to work. She was Tinkerbell and had a great time.

Here are our pumpkins! Happy Halloween.

Vegas Baby!

Emma and I went to Las Vegas to visit my fabulous sisters Allison and Melanie, we got back a couple of weeks ago but I am a little slow to blog it. We had such a fun time! We flew there and Emma did quite well on the plane. On the way to Vegas I had to be patted down at airport security, so retarded, they eventually decided it was the underwire in my bra! We stayed the first two nights and Mel's and the second two at Allie's. They were both so hospitable! It was so much fun to just get to spend time with them and their adorable families, you know, see those cute kids in their own elements. They are all such sweethearts and for the most part they all got along.

Emma loved playing with all the new exciting toys, she was totally entertained. Here are her and Eliza playing princesses.

Hannah taking Emma for a cruise in her Jeep.

The first evening there we went to this Pumpkin Patch by Mel's house. The kids rode rides, played in jump/bounce houses, ate cotton candy, did a straw bale maze, and even took a Pony Ride. Afterwards we went to dinner at In & Out.

Notice how filthy Emma's hands are. Vegas is DIRTY!

On the second day we went to the Springs Preserve and played in the gardens and the playground. We had a picnic, it was fun but I didn't take any pics. Did I mention that both Allie and I had horrible colds during the trip, we weren't really ourselves.

On the third day we went to the "dizzy park" by Allie's house. We walked there and also went to this cute candy store by her house and Emma picked out a gigantic sucker that she took like 10 licks of and then was done.

Hannah getting ready to spin Emma in the "strawberry" (see videos below)

The Nigburs have a Wii, and I had so much fun playing with their Wii Fitness, after I created my own Mii I got wicked good at ski jumping! But I lost everything else but it was still fun.

Emma and Luke just chilling.

Eliza, Emma, Hannah and Nick. So big and cute!

Oh, I forgot to mention the story about losing my wedding ring! I lost it at Mel's house, I left it on my bedside table and when I was packing up it was gone! I was freaking out! We are pretty sure that someone little hands took off with it. We asked all the kids about it but you know the kinds of answers you get from toddlers. We went through the trash, looked everywhere in her house and even checked Luke's poop for it. Finally we gave up and thought maybe later with a clearer head we would have more luck. Well needless to say I was a wreck. But late that night Mel called me while I was playing 4-mation with Keith and Allie and said she found it! It was in a box in the room I was staying in, I was so relieved, and so was she. A Happy Ending Hooray!

On the last night there in good old Vegas, Keith watched the kids while Allie and I went to this new seafood place by her house. Nice guy right! We had a great time, even though Emma only napped 2 out of 4 days and woke up crying in the middle of the night 2 out of 4 nights we still had a fabulous time. Thanks my Vegas-ites for being my best friends, I love ya and miss ya!

Below are some hilarious videos of the kids at the dizzy park. Don't think we are bad parents we were just in need of some entertainment.

Shout out to working moms!

So, here's a random post. I have been working some extra hours lately at work. I am going to visit my sisters in Vegas soon (Hooray!) and am flying so I am trying to get those tickets paid for, plus I have bought some new clothes (I didn't have very much in my new larger size!) and surprise, surprise we may (Cam would say I) have gone a little overborad with Emma's birthday. Regardless, I have been picking up extra at work.
So, I have always said when people ask me what I do for a living I have said that I am a stay at home mom. Which I think is mostly true. I only work one day a week (12 hours) and Emma is either with my mom or Cam or a combination. I don't feel that she is ever without excellent care. So thanks mom and Cami! However with these extra shifts I have had to work some other things out. I have had help from friends (thanks again Alicia) and from my rocking sister Georgia! Cam has also gone in early several times so he can come home early. Hold on, I promise I have a point.
So, it has been hard. I'm tired, the house is pretty messy, the laundry and dishes are backed up. Plus the worst part is I swear Emma is acting out because she is mad at me and feels a little abandoned. Even when we're home I feel I have lots of other things to do besides just have tea parties constantly.
So, I just wanted to say to working moms and single moms out there, you guys have it rough and I give you props for all you do! Also I want to say that I am so blessed to have so many people around me in my life that are willing to help. I am also so grateful for a husband who works so hard so that I usually only have to work just one day a week. He is so awesome and not only does he work I think that he helps out with Emma a ton more than most dads do, and he does a lot of cooking and helps occasionally with housework. So I am a pretty lucky gal, and just wanted you all to know that.
